AWANA
Children's and Youth Ministry

AWANA Clubs begin on September 9!

Wednesdays 6:30-8:05 PM

Our Wednesday evening Awana Clubs are our most focused (and fun!) children's ministry event of the week.  Kids love the games, the snacks, the friends and the theme nights.  They also learn a lot about the Bible and what it means to follow and serve God and each other.

We are excited to begin another year of AWANA.  We have make several changes to our procedures for the start of this year.  They are listed on this page below.

We are encouraging parents to fill out the online registration form below prior to attendance of the first club night if possible.

Please call our AWANA commander Allen Urich or email with any questions about our AWANA clubs.  We'd be glad to tell you more about this great ministry.

AWANA Updated Protocols for Fall 2020

(Protocols may change with ongoing circumstances.  We will inform parents of any changes made to our protocols)

- Based on the survey feedback, all leaders will wear a mask when social distancing cannot be maintained. Clubbers are welcomed to wear masks if they would like but will not be required to wear them during the club night.  Parents will be asked if they would like their child(ren) to wear a mask at AWANA.

-There will be no large group time.
-Each club will have a separate entrance.
-One parent, wearing a mask, will be required to check in their clubber.
-To cut down on crowd size, only one parent is permitted to check in.
-Parents will be checking a box and indicating by their signature that their child is healthy that particular club night.
-Kids that drive themselves will be permitted to do self check-in.
-Temperature checks will be performed using a no-touch temperature scanner.
-Each club will be provided with hand sanitizers so that kids can sanitize prior to entering club, during club (when needed) and again when leaving club.  Leaders will be asked to help clubbers when needed.
-We will have floor markings to appropriately space clubbers/parents at check-in.
-Each club will be equipped with tissues, cleaning/disinfecting materials, and hand sanitizers.
-Each clubber will be provided a “container” (e.g., individual bag, backpack, or folder) with the clubber’s name printed on it to hold their handbook, pencils/pens, crayons, Bible, etc.
-Each clubber will be encouraged to bring/use their own Bible for sanitary purposes. If a clubber needs a Bible, the club will provide one for the clubber to keep.
-Each club will have a designated pick up location.
-We ask that only one parent, wearing a mask, pick up their child.
-If a clubber is ill in any way, even a cold or active allergies, we will ask that a parent does not send their child.
-All leaders will do their best to make sure social distancing is practiced during the club night, where applicable (e.g., spacing clubbers during council time, handbook time, snacks, traveling to and from games, etc.).
-If a clubber or volunteer tests positive for COVID-19, all parents, volunteers, and the church administrative council will be notified immediately and club will be suspended for two weeks.
